re. Brick Kitchen
We went because we wanted waffles and they didn't have waffles on the menu that day. My scotch eggs were great but the toasted/fried baguette slice under them was very tough so I had to dismantle the dish to eat it. My son's banana bread French toast with caramelised bananas and chocolate chips was not caramelised bananas they were bananas in caramel sauce. The dish was so sweet it was sickening even for a 12 year kid. And there were no chocolate chips. My husband liked his hash.
So it wasn't bad but our memory of Starving Artist was much better so Brick Kitchen suffered in comparison. Really we are more breakfast people than brunch people. I don't like dessert for breakfast. But when we went to Starving Artist I thought "Hey, I like this brunch thing" and after the Brick Kitchen I thought, "See? This is why I don't like brunch."
