An long article in Haaretz ( The NY Times of Israel, local boy makes good) got me excited and I ordered all three Ottolenghi books for my family in New Zealand. The inducement was that ordering from UK Amazon was much cheaper than buying locally. I must say that I was disappointed with the books. They were more like coffee table books than cook books. Great pictures. As for the recipes we made a couple recipes and thought they were overwrought. You know, oy fey ist mir.
I much prefer Elizabeth David, Claudia Roden and Paula Wolfert.
