Opus on Elm Street has a private room that will seat 22 and has access to an outdoor courtyard
Bodega on Baldwin Street is located in an old house so the space is broken up into rooms which can accommodate private parties. It has pretty outdoor patio space and is on a quaint tree lined street.
Since you mention "artsy" venues, I thought of CAMERA. It is a lounge/gallery/screening room and can be booked for private catered events. According to their website they can accommodate 30 for a seated dinner.

Le Select is a popular go-to for French on this board. They have two private rooms that will seat up to 35, but do have a minimum spend ($1400 on weekdays, $1800 Th, Fri, Sat)
