Need an extraordinary meal in Toronto - get creative!

+1 for the Hashimoto idea, it's basically a private room as I understand it Kaji, which I love, for me wouldn't be special enough for some of the same reasons that Shoto also isn't (that said I had my 50th at Shoto so there you go) There are lots of private chefs who will cook in your home, Matt Kantor who some people here know from various "pop-ups" does this, also does the "ghost chef" thing (prepares the meal but for minor finishing then does a bunk before your date/guests arrive so you can take credit). I think Bertand formerly of Amuse Bouche does this stuff too. Frankly almost any chef will do this if you have enough $ and book well in advance, especially if you can schedule it on a night the restaurant is closed. Too bad Toronto doesn't have kitchensurfing.com yet.
