I will preface my remark by saying that chocolate is what I will order eight times out of ten. Hotel Gelato has a very decent dark chocolate that has a lot of depth and good texture. Delight on Dundas in the Junction is doing interesting things as well, including a blue cheese ice cream that actually works.
Nice to hear that Via Mercanti is in the mix. If it's of the same quality and attention as the rest of their food, it will be great!
I think SI makes product for a coffee shop on Augusta. I remember having a blood orange that was good. Had another flavour on Bayview that tasted like Ivory Soap. We all have bad days.
