Ha! Millbrook! Well, I'm guessing that you've already made a visit to town, so you know there's a decent Foodland for day to day staples and a reasonable selection of vegetables. On the Main Street there's a cute little bakery called The Pastry Peddler where you can get sweets as well as soups and lunchy type things. Once a month through the summer there's a farmers market in town, with all local produce, meat, honey, maple syrup and whatnot. Every Friday afternoon, I think, there's also a farmers market in Mount Pleasant, just a 10 minute drive up the road. There's an excellent and busy farmers market in peterborough on Saturday mornings, where you can find just about anything fresh, local and prepared. There's a take out BBQ place in Bethany (10 mins away) that's supposed to be good, but I've never gotten anything from there.
Also in Peterborough, there are quite a few restaurants of every kind - chains and independent/quirky. You can search this board for recommendations for the Kawarthas. As for restaurants in Millbrook itself, the less said, the better. There is one family style place, a fish and chips shop, a Subway and a pizza place. Grocery wise, whatever you can't find in Millbrook you will almost certainly find in peterborough.
Welcome to town. 4th Line Theatre person?
