I'm too lazy to do a ton of research right now, but I do know that the sweet corn market is extremely tiny compared to the corn grown for livestock feed, ethanol, and food processing. The greatest areas of profit for Monsanto are not in the sweet corn area. Yes, there is a gmo bt sweet corn, but I don't think it is grown by the majority of sweet corn farmers, who farm on a much smaller scale. If you buy at farmers markets, ask the farmers directly, but I doubt they would want to go down a road of contracting out to Monsanto. Besides, the gmo sweet corn was just introduced a couple of years ago (I don't know if it was approved yet). I can't see farmers switching over this fast.
While searching through seed catalogues this past winter, there are plenty of sweet corn varieties being sold in Canada, mainly focusing on colour and sweetness. I did not come across any gmo sweet corn varieties. These are companies that sell seed to many sweet corn farmers. Here's a link to an article from William Dam Seeds. Not really about sweet corn, but a rebuttal to some misconceptions.
