Raijin Ramen is right at Yonge and Gerrard. Right now it still seems easy to get a table and they are not crazy loud.
If you don't mind going about 5 blocks north of College, Koiyo on Irwin is a small Japanese izakaya that has been around a long time, but doesn't get many mentions. Small and quiet with a nice menu.
