I have not been to AAA yet.. but I went to the Interior Design Show VIP night at the Convention Centre on Thursday and both Barque & AAA were there serving food so I was hoping for a side by side comparison... Unfortunately their menus were very different. Barque was only serving pulled pork soft tacos. As there were thousands of people there you basically get one small taco each and if you want more you had to go back in line. The Tacos were great for Tacos but with the pcikled veg on top and the sauce I did not get a lot of smoke flavour from the spoonfull of pork. AAA could not have been more different. They were serving pulled pork sliders with spicy slaw on top, little cups of texas all meat chili with a corn chip, potato salad & best of all were hand slicing to order a full smoked brisket served on a square of white bread. Th ebrisket had amazing flavour and was very tender it was not dry but not what I would call moist. The girl slicing the brisket said that the show did not provide them with an electrical outlet so they had to reheat the brisket in a chafing dish with those flame burners under it so they could not control the tempurature. The pulled pork was great it was not sauced but they provided both BBQ sauce in a squeeze bottle and a bottle of hot sauce. I found it did not need either as the spicy red slaw on top gave it all the kick it needed. I went back later and grabed the chili and the potato salad. The salad had a bit too much crunch in the potatoes but had a nice acid taste (I think they used picked veg in it). The Chili was good not overly spicy but had nice cubes of beef and a smokey flavor. I now HAVE to find time to check out their restaurant...
