I've been to the one on Centre Street and have enjoyed their sandwiches/soup, etc. Especially like their cinnamon bagels:)

We just got home from the Market. Wow, there was a bitter wind out there today.
15 minute wait for the apple fritters so we left without but they sure looked good!

was there this past week. love the place! the portions are not tiny like many restaurants with the same price point.. and i like that both meat eaters and vegetarians can happily dine together here.

woodlot and yours truly. high end price points and food, but casual atmosphere.
also italian places are always good since they have pasta options. i like enoteca sociale. i have heard good things about campagnolo but have not yet been.

i am curious about the tasting menu at george. what was served?
i tried a vegetarian dish at a special lunch one day at splendido (after they reassured us over the phone that they can accommodate) and it was disappointing.. basically, it was sauteed rapini with some mushrooms. my dessert and app were good though (same as on the regular menu), but the special veg main they made for me was not worth the price. i can make that myself at home!

Yes, the one from Ten Ren smelled like what I recall from Dim Sum shops whereas the one from Whole Foods wasn't to my taste. I'll have to stick to that particular brand of Pu-Erh in that case.
I've also received the following tea as a gift but can't read any of it. Would you be able to translate?

I think the popcorn would be A LOT better with noticable crackling because that's what the place specializes in, not popcorn nor caramel. Had it been Kernels popcorn I would have the same complaint but it would be more understandable.
If he increased the price to $5,00 for a bag of popcorn and added some crackling, no you would not hear me complaining about it. If he made it 7.50, I would not be complaining. I pay for good food I like without any remarks.

sounds like this place might be inconsistent? i tried this place on a saturday night around may of 2011 and i thought the food was edible ("okay") but not particularly good.. definitely not a place i would return to if it were not for the live ethiopian jazz (the sax player apparently used to play with ethio jazz great, mulatu astatke). we came here for that but because the room was mostly empty, after a song or two, the band got off stage and hung out with the staff (owners?) at the back, then we saw them leave! damn, too bad. in the meantime, we ate mediocre food. i want to return to catch the band but thinking to go back for just a drink instead (i don't recall seeing they had ethiopian coffee on offer on the menu).
