Recommend high-ish end restaurant with excellent vegetarian dishes?

And just scanning the Now list, Frank is somewhere I've eaten very well at too.

Yang's - Not only fine Dim Sum but they offer awesome Cantonese Cuisine dinner too!!

Nostalgia Coffee Company in East York

I can't imagine a nicer looking coffee place opening if pictures are to be believed. I hope the chains back off and leave the intersection alone. Something interesting and organic to the neighbourhood seems to be happening. Thanks for the info cheesymama. I guess a gal's get together is in order. It'd be nice to have a place to relax and gab around here that's alcohol and chain free.

Goulash House Newmarket

Wanted to eat here last night but without reservations we weren't able to get in, Hostess was very sweet and was sorry she couldn't accomodate us. My husband recognized her from the attached deli, Food smelled amazing, looked very appetizing, cozy atmosphere. (p According to their facebook Justin Trudeau and the Finnish ambassador have both been their recently. Anyone else been?

Kingyo is open

Have a night planned out on Wednesday. Will I have to wait in line if planning on going at around 8pm?

Panera Breads

Bread and pastries are fine. combo deals are good value where u pick soup/salad/sandwich. Otherwise, very pricey. $11 for a panini sandwich. We like that there is calorie info posted on the menu boards. Great place to take a rest between shopping since it's comfortable and has wifi. But at these prices, I can think of better places for a real lunch.

Looking for a leisurely lunch near AGO or Union Station

My husband and I are coming into town on Thursday to take in the Diego & Frida exhibit at the AGO, and would like to have our annual "Christmas Lunch" afterward. This has become a "splurge meal" tradition for us - we're willing to spend up to $100/person, and would prefer to take our time enjoying a few glasses of wine and ideally sharing several small plates. We're probably about a 7/10 on the adventurous scale. I'm not a huge seafood fan, but he is - oysters would get bonus marks from him. We'd also like to be either close to Union/Go station or easy access to TTC. We've enjoyed the wine bar on Church in the past, but I'd like to try something different this year. I appreciate your suggestions!

alternative to Soma

Thanks Wahooty. Will try BCS next time I'm in the neighbourhood.

Best of Toronto for 2 for $250 or less

I am looking for the best of Toronto for 2 for $250 or less for a Christmas pressie (meal, a bottle of wine, and gratuity). Is this doable at any of the "top 10" - I am thinking Splendido, Ici Bistro, Enoteca Sociale, etc. for a really nice dinner out. One diner requires a gluten free meal. Help! I am not anywhere near TO, so really have no idea.

Sunday Brunch in Toronto

So glad you enjoyed it! Make sure you report back after you've gone to WBK.

Brunch Suggestions in Burlington or Milton areas.

We need an easy going restaurant for a brunch on the 24th. Teens and adults expected. We prefer not to go to a big chain restaurant. Your ideas are most welcome, thanks in advance.

"happy hour"/cinq à sept food specials

Toronto Life recently posted a list of happy hour specials, which of course is more about alcohol, with some food info included. I would like to know more about early evening food specials. Anyone have some knowledge to share? If you want to look at the Toronto Life list: http://www.torontolife.com/daily/daily-dish/bottoms/2012/12/05/toronto-happy-hour/?utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=Toronto+Life+Dish+December+11+2012&utm_content=Toronto+Life+Dish+December+11+2012+CID_1061c8924a3abe78782aa007632d08d5&utm_source=Newsletters&utm_term=Get%20Happy

Looking for a leisurely lunch near AGO or Union Station

I like Biff's for lunch. http://www.oliverbonacini.com/OliverBonacini/media/pdfs/Biffs_Lunch.pdf Oysters might be available at lunch. They're usually available at dinner time. Frank's food hasn't been impressing me much the last couple visits.

Niagara Gold Cheese. A good price in the GTA

Would be curious to find out as well. One of my favourite cheeses.

Where Can I Buy Kinnie?

I have recently started selling 24 can cases of Kinnie in an attempt to bring the taste of Malta to Canada. If you are interested please contact me at dennis.vella@rogers.com. I live in Caledon, Ontario. http://ontario.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell-other-Kinnie-Imported-from-Malta-Cases-of-24-Cans-W0QQAdIdZ440401628

Kingyo is open

What day did you go? I went last night at 7pm and they were closed, tried calling and their voicemail isn't activated!

What are the most developed ethnic cousines in Toronto?

Wow, Prima. You eloquently and thoroughly wrote everything I was thinking and more. How could I have overlooked Greek food? D'uh. I have little to no experience with Portuguese food outside of Portugal, so I don't feel qualified to comment on the scene in the GTA.

Where is the best Mexican in Toronto?

Frida's especially nice when the patio is open. Chef Hadad's flavours and sunshine make a perfect pair.

Looking for well-priced free-range turkey for Christmas dinner

Everyone's pocket is a little different, so define "good price?" Also the average price for most Free-Range Turkey's seem to be about $3-4/lb, so YMMV.

Panera Breads

Stoney's is definitely better... I personally wasn't a huge fan of the bread I tried there (the sandwich bread and the side of bread that came with my soup).. Still, with the coupons it is worth trying.. Maybe there are better things on the menu then what I ordered. I did like the coffee.
